About Fields Dance Studio

The family-owned and operated Fields Dance Studio has been teaching dance, acrobatics, and theatrics to children and adults in Hampton Roads, Virginia, since 1936. The studio is known throughout the area for performing at community and charitable events, VA hospitals, the MDA, the Cancer Society, nursing homes, the Peninsula Food Bank, local parades and festivals, and the annual Fantapulous production in the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade. The studio has produced 80 annual recitals (!) and is the home of the prestigious Fields Performance Company.

Our faculty has trained with top national and international dance organizations, and brings decades of teaching and professional dance experience into the classroom. Members of the faculty have taught nationally and internationally, judged dance and talent competitions, been selected for juried dance showcases, and choregraphed for local pageants and television shows. All of our teachers are committed to providing a quality dance education in a positive environment. It is our philosophy that students should enjoy their lessons.

Our students have appeared at/in State Fairs, the Lost Colony historical drama in Manteo, NC, Stars of Tomorrow in Atlantic City, NJ, community theater, television commercials, modeling companies, Miss Teenage America, USO Shows, and national television shows. They have been awarded dance scholarships at colleges and universities, and have founded their own dance studios.

It is our intent to provide a quality program which promotes the awareness and education of Dance, Gymnastics, and Theatrics in a fun and affordable fashion.

She was the choreographer for a local television show for 2 1/2 years, has choreographed for the Miss Hampton Roads USA pageant, and managed the Fields Hawaiian Dancers for 4 years. Her biggest contribution to her success is her love of children, and her ability to communicate the joy of dance. In addition to teaching dance, Judi is also an accomplished costumer. She enjoys the creativity of designing and making costumes.

Lori Dangerfield

She is the director of the Fields Baton Twirling Corps. Throughout her career, Lori has won many first-place trophies for baton in the duet, trio, and dance twirl team categories at the local, state, and national levels. Her skill and creativity make a class with her a great experience and education. Lori is co-director of the award-winning Fields Performance Company.

Cindi Fields

She has been dancing for over 24 years, with performance experience in many festivals and exhibitions for the Latin American Club of Hampton Roads. From old school, to new street and club, she has a lot to offer.

Laura’s favorite style to dance and teach is contemporary, but she firmly believes in building strong dancers and loves to incorporate conditioning into her classes. Come be inspired with Laura and fall in love with dance!
